Today the figures of the deal have been confirmed, with a €6m fee for the remainder of this campaign.

The contract runs until 2021, with Qatar Airways paying €11m per season for a total of €33m, plus bonuses based on “reaching certain specific sporting objectives”.

Roma can break the contract if they don’t receive one of the instalments, provided they give 30 days of warning.

Either party can break the deal if confidentiality is breached or “in the case of actions or statements by management or controlling shareholders that may damage or reasonably damage the image, the reputation, or the good name of the other party”.

Juventus currently earn around €17m per season through their shirt sponsorship with Jeep, with Inter getting €10m from Pirelli and Milan €14.5m from Fly Emirates.

All three clubs can improve on that basic rate through bonuses, with Juve getting €21m from their deal for the year up to June 30 2017.

Serie A clubs are a long way behind the European elite though, with Real Madrid getting €70m from Fly Emirates, Manchester United €63m from Chevrolet and Barcelona €55m from Rakuten.
