Roma send Reynolds to Belgium, could release Santon

Roma outcast and USA international Bryan Reynolds seems to be heading to Belgium for Anderlecht or Club Brugge, while Davide Santon could terminate his contract and Borja Mayoral confirms he has COVID-19.

The Giallorossi signed Reynolds from FC Dallas in February 2021, on loan with obligation to buy for a total of almost €7m.

However, he never made an impact and has been dropped entirely from the squad under Jose Mourinho and played effectively just one game, the legendary 6-1 Europa Conference League defeat to Bodo/Glimt.

According to Calciomercato.it, the 20-year-old will be loaned out to a Belgian club, with the decision between Anderlecht and Club Brugge.

As for another player on the outskirts of the Roma squad, it’s reported Santon could simply terminate his contract by mutual consent, as he is unable to find a new club willing to pay for his transfer.

Meanwhile, Borja Mayoral – who has been linked with Fiorentina should the loan from Real Madrid be interrupted – has confirmed via social media he is one of the Roma players who has tested positive for COVID-19.
