Spartak Moscow have announced the signing of Roma striker Ezequiel Ponce on a permanent deal.
A statement on Spartak’s website confirms Ponce has put pen to paper on ‘a long-term agreement’ with the club.
The 22-year-old scored 21 goals for AEK Athens last season, but their option to buy was not exercised.

Roma beat off competition from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur to sign the Argentine from Newell’s in 2015.
However, he did not play a single competitive match for the Lupi, instead spending time on loan at Granada, Lille and AEK.
Spartak, for their part, last won the Russian title two years ago under former Juventus man Massimo Carrera.
