Roma defender Roger Ibanez will undergo his medical with Al-Ahli on Tuesday after the clubs agreed a deal worth €33m plus a 20 per cent cut of his sell-on fee.
Giallorossi coach Jose Mourinho effectively confirmed the transfer today with a post on Instagram showing the centre-back handing over his final jersey.
More details are now emerging on the figures and director Tiago Pinto has seemingly squeezed a great deal out of the Saudi Pro League side.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the fee paid will be €28.5m plus another €3m in easy to activate bonuses.
Roma will also retain a 20 per cent cut of the sell-on fee, which considering Ibanez is only 24 years old could well prove lucrative in future.
There was an additional €1.5m that Roma owed for the solidarity payment and training compensation, which has also been taken on by Al-Ahli.
That brings the total cost of the operation to €33m plus 20 per cent of the sell-on fee.
Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa had also shown an interest in signing Ibanez.
