This encounter is extremely high risk due to the clashes between fans in Rome ahead of the Coppa Italia Final on May 3, which resulted in Napoli supporter Ciro Esposito’s death.

Roma fans are barred from attending at the Stadio San Paolo due to security fears, but the team also had to adopt unusual measures.

The Corriere dello Sport notes the club booked two different hotels, one inside the city and one further out, to throw potential protestors off the scent.

The squad arrived at the airport and was taken to the hotel in an unmarked bus with blacked out windows, accompanied by police escorts and overseen by a helicopter.

The hotel was heavily guarded overnight, while the stadium today is expected to hold 600 stewards and 700 police officers.
