Roma’s search for a director of sport continues, sources tell Football Italia, as Michael Emenalo and Jonas Boldt are not in the running.

There had been reports in the Corriere dello Sport yesterday that former Chelsea chief Emenalo was a strong candidate, but our sources now insist there was never even a meeting.

RomaPress.net and Il Tempo newspaper maintain that it was if anything Emenalo who had been offering his services to the Giallorossi.

On the other hand, Hamburger SV director Boldt had been on the shortlist at one stage, although he has now been ruled out of the process and is said to be in negotiations for a new contract at his current club.

The Giallorossi have been without a director of sport since Gianluca Petrachi was fired following a row with then-President James Pallotta.

With the Friedkin Group takeover in August, the transfer strategy has been dealt with by CEO Guido Fienga.

Potential candidates said to still be in the race by Il Tempo include Atletico Madrid chief Andrea Berta and Lille director Luis Campos.

French media Canal Football Club claim that Campos is trying to negotiate an exit from Lille following clashes with director general Marc Ingla.
