Roma have a deal with Chelsea for Mohamed Salah, but hold off in case they get Luiz Adriano from Shakhtar Donestk instead.

There are multiple reports in the Italian papers that terms have been agreed to take Salah on an 18-month loan for €1m with an option to buy for €17m.

However, the Giallorossi are in absolutely no hurry to complete the transfer just yet.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, that’s because Roma will drop Salah if they get the go-ahead for Luiz Adriano.

As they are both non-EU players, the Serie A club can only bring in one during this transfer session.

It’s believed Coach Rudi Garcia would prefer Luiz Adriano and the Brazilian therefore becomes the priority.

He is ready to leave Ukraine, as the troubles in the country have flared up again with a recent attack on Donetsk.

Luiz Adriano would cost around €10m – £8m – and had already been linked with the Stadio Olimpico side last summer.

The 27-year-old striker will be out of contract at the end of this season.
