Roma will reportedly rival Arsenal for Yacine Brahimi if Stephan El Shaarawy moves to China.

El Shaarawy looks to have been swayed by the riches of Shanghai Shenhua, and Corriere dello Sport claims Roma could now turn their attentions to Brahimi.

The winger is a free agent after leaving Porto, where he scored 54 goals and provided 43 assists in 215 appearances.

He was also part of the Porto team who knocked the Giallorossi out of last season’s Champions League.

However, the newspaper warns his salary demands of €3.5m could be a problem.

The 29-year-old is also a target for Arsenal, as well as Turkish trio Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas.

Brahimi, currently at the Africa Cup of Nations with Algeria, would be an identikit replacement for the Italian, given he too is a right-footed left winger.
