Roma have issued an update on the injury status of Paulo Dybala, revealing that the Argentine has a strain to the adductor in his right thigh.

Dybala had to ask to be removed after 26 minutes of Roma’s 1-0 loss to Feyenoord in the Europa League quarter-final first leg on Thursday evening.

Initial fears were that Dybala had suffered a much more serious injury that could have rules him out for several weeks of the Giallorossi’s crucial run in both in Serie A and in Europe.

However, after undergoing further medical examinations at Trigoria this morning, La Gazzetta dello Sport confirms that Dybala’s injury is not as bad as first feared.

La Joya will likely not be involved for the Serie A game against Udinese at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday evening, but there are hopes that he could return in time for the second leg against Feyenoord at home on Thursday.

La Gazzetta writes that it could be a similar situation to when Dybala was withdrawn against Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16 tie, when he was able to return in time for the return match the following week.
