The Giallorossi are still looking for a centre-back after Kostas Manolas moved to Napoli this summer.
Several options were approached and then let go, while now Mustafi is on their radar.
“Shkodran had a great time with Arsenal. We still have a contract for two years and can imagine to stay in London,” said his father and agent Kujtim Mustafi.

“Shkodran had a great time with Arsenal. We still have a contract for two years and can imagine to stay in London,” said his father and agent Kujtim Mustafi.
“However, the best for both sides is probably to work on a transfer. But for that it also needs market-driven transfer-fees.”
According to Sky Sport Italia, Roma and Monaco had been interested, but were put off by the €27m asking price.
The 27-year-old German international already has Sere A experience at Sampdoria from January 2012 to August 2014.
He was sold to Arsenal for a massive €41m by Valencia in 2016.
