Julian Nagelsmann confirms RB Leipzig are ‘negotiating’ down the price for Patrik Schick, but Roma could sell him to a Premier League club instead.

The striker joined the Bundesliga club on loan for €3.5m with option to buy for a further €29m, but that deadline has now passed.

“Patrik was a dream player for me, but it all has to be done within reason,” RB Leipzig coach Nagelsmann told Kicker.

“Patrik was a dream player for me, but it all has to be done within reason,” RB Leipzig coach Nagelsmann told Kicker.

“We too are fighting the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and can’t just throw money around. We cannot pay the figure that was requested, so we are still negotiating.”

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport point out Roma need to sell Schick for at least €26m to avoid making a loss on the €29m plus bonuses transfer from Sampdoria in 2018.

It’s noted that there are several Premier League clubs interested in the 24-year-old Czech international centre-forward, including Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.

Roma would be prepared to allow another loan, but only with an obligation to buy and not another option.
