Robin Olsen

Roma have reportedly accepted a Sheffield United approach to take Robin Olsen on loan, but now the Swedish goalkeeper must decide.

The 31-year-old was signed from FC Copenhagen in 2018 for €9m but was quickly dropped and sent out on loan to Cagliari and then Everton.

He is not part of coach Jose Mourinho’s plans either and finding a buyer has proved difficult, after close calls with Lille, OGC Nice and Stade Rennais.

Now transfer pundit Nicolò Schira claims Olsen could be sent to the English Championship – their version of Serie B – on another loan move.

Roma seem open to the idea, but the Sweden international must decide whether to accept or wait for a more prestigious destination.

He has 48 senior caps for Sweden and played every game for his country at UEFA EURO 2020.

His only other experience in England, at Everton last season, was disappointing with just 11 competitive appearances.
