Roma’s Tiago Pinto has reportedly offered Lyon a player swap deal for talented playmaker Houssem Aouar.
The 23-year-old Frenchman seems destined to leave the Ligue 1 side this summer as his current contract expires in 2023, making this essentially the last chance to cash in on the midfielder. In the past Aouar was linked with a number of top teams like Arsenal, Tottenham and Juventus, but now things have fallen relatively quiet.
As reported by Leggo, Tiago Pinto has proposed an exchange deal to Lyon for Aouar, offering one of Amadou Diawara or Ebrima Darboe plus an unspecified amount of cash. The French side value the 23-year-old at around €22-25m and they’re currently unconvinced by this offer, with neither player proving exciting enough.
Aouar is considered one of the key players in the Lyon squad and they want to earn a decent amount from his sale. The 23-year-old Frenchman scored six goals and provided four assists in 36 Ligue 1 appearances in the season just gone.
