Jose Mourinho’s harsh words following Roma’s loss to Inter may have been the precursor to an exodus in this summer’s transfer window.
The Portuguese coach bluntly accused his squad of lacking personality and character following the defeat to the Nerazzurri, but despite the waves this has caused in the dressing room, the club’s management fully back the former Inter and Porto man.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport, five players could leave Roma this summer in order to progress Mourinho’s project. The first two of these are Jordan Veretout and Roger Ibañez, two players who’ve already fallen out of favour with the former Chelsea coach.
The same can be said for Matías Viña, who will undoubtedly lose his place in the squad for Leonardo Spinazzola once the Italian is fit enough to return from his long-term injury.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s contract expires with the Giallorossi at the end of this season, and despite the fact that he’s currently one of their most in-form players, they are not planning to renew his deal.
Finally, there’s Nicolo Zaniolo. Without a new contract, the 22-year-old Italian forward will undoubtedly attract attentions from a number of top clubs and Roma may be tempted by an attractive offer.
Mourinho made it clear that both him and the club’s management are prepared to do whatever it takes to improve the squad; speaking in a press conference last week, he said: “Our objective is always to improve. My aim is always to improve in every market until the last one with Roma, which only the Friedkins know when that will be.”

Getting rid of the best players. Good plan mou
Good players without use….
Let them go
Veretout will be sold for 30+ million which is a good deal imo he come for less did well but not too well to help the team get to the CL… I don’t think Ibanez will be sold I think Jose rates him the guy jose dosn’t like is probably Smalling because he is very sloppy defender and he is on a big wage so if anyone leaves it will be Smalling
So I see this headline and get my hopes up that it’s Cristante heading out, then I see an article further down that actually he’s getting a contract extension. Any clear out has to start with him.
Crisante,Smalling,Vina,ELS, need to go. Keep Ibanez unless over 40 mill came in. Renew Zaniolo. Veretout for 25-35 mill would be good.
Bring in Chukwueze. Crisante for Castrovilli straight swap.
Mourinho has a long record of getting rid of good players. How he still gets to coach is a mystery.
