Roma will have another meeting with Florian Grillitsch and his entourage next week as they look to close out a deal for the free agent.

The 26-year-old Austrian midfielder is leaving Hoffenheim on a free transfer next week after his contract expires, ending a five-year association with the club. He’s keen for a new adventure and he was on the verge of joining Fiorentina before a deal apparently collapsed.

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, a new meeting has been scheduled on Monday between Roma and Grillitsch’s entourage as they further discuss a possible free transfer to the Italian capital.

The 26-year-old Grillitsch, who is a product of Werder Bremen’s youth system, made 18 Bundesliga appearances last season, playing a total of 1495 minutes. His defensive qualities stood out but his season was hampered by both illness and a muscle injury.

Jose Mourinho is a fan of the player and he’d likely be a strong addition to the midfield in Rome.
