Now the club have communicated in an official statement that the player will be out for an injury incurred with the youth squad.

“Medical tests have revealed that Ezequiel Ponce has sprained the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee,” reads the statement.
“The Argentine striker twisted his knee in Roma Primavera's UEFA Youth League match against Barcelona on Tuesday, when he scored a brace to help the Giallorossi U19s come from 3-0 down to draw 3-3.
“A recovery plan for the 18-year-old will be decided over the next few days.”
