Roma players have reportedly given their green light to Leonardo Bonucci’s move to the Stadio Olimpico in January while talks between the Giallorossi and the Italian defender continue.

The experienced Italian defender could move to the Stadio Olimpico just six months after his free transfer to Union Berlin from Juventus.

Roma have a low transfer budget to spend in the January window and are desperate for defensive reinforcements, given that Evan N’Dicka will leave for the AFCON next month while Chris Smalling and Marash Kumbulla are recovering from injuries.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport’s Jacopo Aliprandi, Roma players have approved Bonucci’s January transfer and are ready to welcome him at the Stadio Olimpico.

Some of them, including Bryan Cristante, Leonardo Spinazzola and Lorenzo Pellegrini, have played with Bonucci with Italy’s national team, while Paulo Dybala shared many years with the Italian defender at Juventus.

In the meantime, Roma continue talks with the 36-year-old who has made 10 appearances with Union Berlin this season, scoring one goal.
