Roma sources have denied interest in Leonardo Bonucci and Sergio Ramos, but fans expect a new big signing in defence following Romelu Lukaku’s loan move from Chelsea.

The Giallorossi will announce the Belgian striker on Wednesday, but Lukaku may not be Roma’s last summer signing.

José Mourinho’s side sold Roger Ibanez to Al-Ahli earlier this summer and with Marash Kumbulla returning to action in January following a knee injury, fans expect one more signing in defence.

There have been reports of interest in both Sergio Ramos and Bonucci, but according to Roma sources quoted by Gazzetta, both centre-backs are not on the club’s radars.

Ramos is available as a free agent after the end of his PSG contract in June, while Bonucci would be available practically for free as he’s no longer part of Juventus plans.

Roma don’t seem to be in the race for the two defenders but as highlighted by Gazzetta ‘nothing seems impossible’ after Lukaku’s landing in the capital.
