Roma are reportedly preparing to begin a new round of contract renewal talks with talented forward Nicolo Zaniolo.

The 23-year-old Italian did not have the quietest summer transfer market, being heavily linked with moves away to clubs like Juventus and Tottenham throughout the window, but ultimately a departure from Roma never materialised as coach Jose Mourinho made it clear that he was still an important part of the project.

As highlighted by TMW, Roma are planning to sit down for a new round of contract renewal negotiations with Zaniolo and his entourage once the transfer window draws to a close. Both parties want to move forward together and current indications suggest that a new deal would last until 2027.

Significant developments are expected at some point later next month, with Roma keen to end the transfer market noise surrounding the player once and for all.

Last season, Zaniolo scored eight goals and provided nine assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
