Roma are reportedly planning to lodge their first formal offer to LaLiga side Girona for striker Artem Dovbyk after a meeting with the player’s agent in the city of Rome on Thursday, according to recent updates.

The Giallorossi decided to explore a last-minute move for the Ukrainian striker after having an offer rejected by Villarreal for ex-RB Leipzig man Alexander Sorloth.

Dovbyk has also been in discussions with Atletico Madrid, but the LaLiga giants have not yet reached a formal agreement either, so Roma have decided to intervene.

Atletico’s offer is understood to be on hold for the time being, as they have not yet been able to clear up the details surrounding commission fees.

How much Roma plan to offer for Dovbyk

According to updates from transfer expert Matteo Moretto, Roma are planning to submit a first offer just over the €30m mark, with bonuses included. That is just shy of €10m short of the €40m release clause that the 27-year-old has in his Girona contract.

That is around the same price that Roma offered Villarreal for Sorloth.
