Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini admits that tomorrow’s Conference League Final against Feyenoord is the most important game in his career: ‘I couldn’t ask for more.’

The Italy international will captain the Giallorossi in Tirana tomorrow when Roma could win their first trophy since 2008.

“It’s a decisive game, I don’t know if Roma have something more, but we came here to win. We’ll be determined to end our path in the best way,” he said at a press conference.

“A Final is different from any other game. I want to thank my teammates regardless of tomorrow’s result. We’ve always helped each other. Rejoycing and suffering together.

“That’s what a true team does. It’s a feeling we have had for a long time and it’s a nice one. Everyone has noticed it, including the coach and everything is much simpler this way.

“The fans have always supported us, even during tough times. Tomorrow’s game is crucial and we’ll give our all to win it,” the midfielder continued.

“I’d be so happy to win this game, but it’s not only about me. I am the captain and I am from Rome, but it wouldn’t be fair. A team is made of all its components. We have improved and I feel that, if we win tomorrow, we’ll be ready to win something else in the future.”

Is this the most important game in his career?

“As far as I am concerned, yes. It’s my first final and I play it wearing this shirt. I couldn’t ask for more.”
