The Giallorossi are mired in uncertainty and this afternoon’s Serie A match with Spezia could decide coach Paulo Fonseca’s fate.

Dzeko was left out of the squad for that game, officially due to injury, but Sky Sport Italia, the Corriere dello Sport and others maintain it was a disciplinary measure following a training ground row with Fonseca.

The Bosnian is suddenly back on the transfer market with only a week left in the January window.

According to Sportitalia, Dzeko was offered to PSG as part of an exchange of six-month loans with ex-Inter centre-forward Icardi.

However, the Parisians were not interested in the idea.

Meanwhile, Roma are busy bringing in reinforcements, as El Shaarawy is expected to undergo a medical today, marking his return as a free agent from Shanghai Shenhua.

He has a release clause in his contract with the Chinese club, having left the Giallorossi in the summer of 2019.

The ‘Little Pharaoh’ is expected to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract worth €3.5m per season.

Also on the way next week is FC Dallas full-back Reynolds, who had been very close to Juventus before Roma pipped them to the post.

It’s set to be a loan with obligation to buy for €7m, with FC Dallas maintaining a 15 per cent cut of any future sale.
