Roma open talks with Empoli talent Baldanzi

Roma are looking to bolster Daniele De Rossi’s frontline and have opened talks with the entourage of Empoli talent Tommaso Baldanzi.

The Giallorossi were fairly quiet in the first few weeks of the January transfer window, only picking up Juventus youngster Dean Huijsen on a six-month loan deal with no buy option attached. The club are unable to spend heavily due to Financial Fair Play restrictions imposed by UEFA.

Roma, now under the guidance of De Rossi following Jose Mourinho’s dismissal, have started to make some late moves in the window, negotiating a deal for RB Leipzig owned winger Angelino.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma want to strengthen their frontline and are thinking about making a move for Baldanzi. They contacted his entourage to explore a deal, learning that the Tuscan side weren’t interested in any loan offers.

Due to the FFP restrictions, the Giallorossi are unable to move forward for Baldanzi until they rehome some unneeded players.
