Roma director Mauro Baldissoni reassured fans over Gervinho and Mehdi Benatia, promising “another buy, possibly today.”
The dg spoke to Roma Channel ahead of tonight’s friendly against Liverpool in Boston.
“We worked in harmony with the Coach and I think we will do something more on the market,” said Baldissoni.
“There will be another buy, in fact we could possibly close another deal today, but I won’t say any more.”
Gervinho is not with the squad in the US yet, but Roma denied reports he was staying away as a protest due to a contract dispute.
“There is no situation to comment on, as he asked our permission for a few days to attend to some family problems. It has nothing to do with contract issues.”
Manchester City and Chelsea target Benatia is in the squad and could well face Liverpool tonight.
It’s believed the Morocco international has opted to remain after a private talk with President James Pallotta.
“The President loves talking to the players and he spoke to all of them.”
