“For the moment we are complete with the arrival of Andrea Belotti from Palermo, as he was our main objective,” said Cairo.
“Prcic is a player we like, but we have to see if Rennes are open to negotiations. He’d be a bonus player for us, as we have many midfielders already, so getting him would mean selling another.”
Despite interest from Roma, Napoli, FC Porto and more, Torino are clinging tight to Bruno Peres.
“We do not want to sell Maksimovic or Bruno Peres, unless something extraordinary happens. No offer has come from Roma for Bruno Peres, as so far there haven’t been any real negotiations.”
Torino do appear to be sending veteran striker Amauri to Serie A new boys Carpi.
“There has indeed been interest from Carpi and we are considering what is best for the team and the player. He had a good pre-season, is in shape and wants to play. This is an opportunity for him, we’re talking and will see what happens over the next couple of days.”
The Granata have certainly strengthened with Italy Under-21 internationals Daniele Baselli and Davide Zappacosta.
“We never said our objective for this season was to qualify for Europe. First of all we need to reach 40 points and secure safety, then we’ll see what is possible.
“We have many Under-21 talents who need time and patience. We mustn’t put too much responsibility on their shoulders.
“I have seen many players have a difficult first year under the tutorship of Giampiero Ventura only to do very well in the second. For example, Bruno Peres had a different attitude before and now he plays like a veteran.”
