According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma are in talks with Leicester City for midfielder Boubakary Soumaré for a deal worth under €15m.

The Giallorossi have been extremely active on the transfer market this summer and are not finished yet, as they continue to revamp the squad.

Soumaré is only under contract until June 2026 and just completed a loan spell in Spain with Sevilla, where he made 34 competitive appearances, 30 of them in the starting XI.

Sevilla experience for Soumaré

Leicester City paid €20m to sign him from Lille back in 2021 and he was a product of the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy.

The reports in Italy suggest that negotiations are at a very early stage, but Roma believe they can get a deal done for under €15m.

He turned 25 in February and would fit coach Daniele De Rossi’s 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 tactical ideas.

While many of the new signings this summer at the Stadio Olimpico have been attack-minded, this would be a primarily defensive midfielder.
