Roma name Juventus players wanted in Zaniolo exchange

Juventus and Roma are discussing what players could be used in part-exchange for Nicolò Zaniolo, including Arthur, Fabio Miretti and Giacomo Vrioni.

The Bianconeri got the breakthrough they wanted for Angel Di Maria, who is ready to sign a one-year contract worth €7.5m per season as a free agent, but that doesn’t mean they won’t also continue their pursuit of Zaniolo.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, talks are carrying on behind the scenes to work out which players Roma would accept as part of an exchange deal to lower the €50-60m asking price.

Arthur Melo was an option, but the Giallorossi do not seem too enthusiastic about the idea of the Brazilian ex-Barcelona player.

Instead, they are more interested in promising young players who they can help develop and perhaps then sell on at a profit in future – which is after all how they got Zaniolo in the first place, in part-exchange for Radja Nainggolan.

Amongst those mentioned are 18-year-old midfielder Miretti, who has already played seven games for the senior Juventus team and is the star man of the Italy Under-19 squad.

Another is Vrioni, a 23-year-old centre-forward who is currently on loan at WSG Tirol and has six senior caps for Albania.
