“Above all I want to win, but if I could score a goal against Lazio then that’d be even nicer.

“How does it compare to Boca Juniors v River Plate? The Argentina derby is passionate, sometimes too much so, it can become dangerous and I don’t like that aspect.

“But as a spectacle it’s the best in the world.”

Perotti then defended his Lupi teammate Edin Dzeko, who has been criticised for his goalscoring return.

“I don’t think he’s in a negative period like we’re told, he’s scored five goals in his last six games.

“It’s normal that people expect more when you have a player like him who scored a lot of goals for Manchester City.

“Edin is a very important player for us, I really like him and he’ll be very important for the team.”
