Roma have reportedly set their sights on Barcelona’s  Sergiño Dest and could drop Ainsley Maitland-Niles at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old moved to the Stadio Olimpico on loan from Arsenal in January and has already played six Serie A games under José Mourinho this term. However, Calciomercato.com reports that Roma won’t try to make his move permanent at the end of the season as the Englishman hasn’t been entirely convincing yet.

According to the report, one of Roma’s targets for the summer is Barcelona’s  Sergiño Dest. The 21-year-old sees his contract expire in 2025 and has played 22 games across all competitions this term. Barcelona reportedly value Dest at €18m.

Roma sit eighth in the Serie A table, six points off fourth-placed Juventus. Despite investing over €100m during the last two transfer windows, Mourinho will be looking for more reinforcements at the end of the campaign.

If Dest moves to the Capital, then Matias Vina and Rick Karsdorp could also be put on the market, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles back to North London.
