Roma look to have missed out on Marcelo Bielsa as it is reported he has agreed to a second season in charge of Leeds United.

Bielsa had emerged as a candidate for the Roma job over the weekend, but the Yorkshire Evening Post claims the Argentine is ‘poised’ to accept an extension with Leeds.

The newspaper explains ‘positive’ talks were held between the club and Argentine after their playoff defeat to Derby County.

Bielsa had emerged as a candidate for the Roma job over the weekend, but the Yorkshire Evening Post claims the Argentine is ‘poised’ to accept an extension with Leeds.

The newspaper explains ‘positive’ talks were held between the club and Argentine after their playoff defeat to Derby County.

The 63-year-old signed a contract until 2020 last summer, but it also included a gentleman’s agreement allowing him to walk away from Elland Road.

Leeds, for their part, are gearing up for another season in the EFL Championship – the English equivalent of Serie B.
