Roma director Tiago Pinto will meet Alvaro Morata’s agent today with the Giallorossi ready to drop Gianluca Scamacca if West Ham don’t send the striker out on loan with an option to buy.

The Giallorossi are on the lookout for a new centre forward for 2023-24 following Tammy Abraham’s knee injury.

Scamacca is their priority target, but West Ham are unwilling to loan him out unless the deal comes with an obligation to buy. Monday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (page 16) reports the Giallorossi will drop Scamacca if the Hammers don’t change their stance.

In the meantime, Roma are ready to meet Morata’s agent in Rome today, as reported by Gazzetta and Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Spaniard has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the Giallorossi, but it is still unsure whether his release clause from Atletico Madrid is €21m or €10m. Inter, Juventus and Milan are also strongly interested in Morata, but according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the striker’s priority is to join Roma, especially after talking to José Mourinho and his former Juve teammate Paulo Dybala.
