Roma meet for Higuain tomorrow?

Roma will reportedly meet Gonzalo Higuain’s agent-brother tomorrow, but they are not prepared to sell midfield starlet Alessio Riccardi to Juventus.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma do not want to be caught cold in the event Edin Dzeko leaves for Inter, while Higuain is starting to accept his future lies away from Juve.

With that in mind, the newspaper explains the Giallorossi have been given permission to ‘secretly’ negotiate with Nicolas Higuain over a possible deal for the striker.

However, Il Corriere warns the Lupi have issued a hands-off warning to the Bianconeri after they ‘set their sights’ on Riccardi.

Instead, the 18-year-old looks like possibly being promoted to the first team this season after showing promise with the Primavera and for Italy at various youth levels.

He is also considered a future ‘icon’ for the club, given he is Roman born and bred.
