La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Roma director Tiago Pinto met Ever Banega’s agent in Milan yesterday, while Manchester United have made their move to sign the Giallorossi target Boubacar Kamara.

José Mourinho has already welcomed Sergio Oliveira at the Stadio Olimpico in January, but Roma chiefs are working to sign another player in the middle of the park.

Kamara is a long-time Roma target, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 22-year-old is more likely to sign with a Premier League club.

His contract with Olympique de Marseille expires in the summer and he has requested a €5m-a-year deal which would make him become Roma’s highest earner with Tammy Abraham.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday that the Red Devils are interested in Kamara but have not made their move yet.

On the other hand, according to the pink paper, Manchester United have made their move trying to tempt the 22-year-old and Roma’s interest in the versatile midfielder has cooled.

Former Inter midfielder Ever Banega could be an option for the Giallorossi.

The 33-year-old is under contract with Al-Shabab and his agent Marcelo Simonian met Tiago Pinto in Milan yesterday.

Roma’s interest in Banega is not confirmed as Simonian represents several other Argentinean players.

According to the report, Roma do not have a clear strategy for Banega yet, but the former Inter and Sevilla playmaker could offer one more option to Mourinho in the middle of the park, joining Roma on loan until the end of the season.

  1. With our defence, we don’t need another midfielder, we need a bricklayer to build some walls round our goal.

  2. A CDM would be nice though Cristante looks more like one with Oliviera playing M than Veretout.
