Milan and Napoli had also been interested in the French midfielder, but after weeks of tense negotiations, it looks as if Roma have finally secured a deal.
The 26-year-old had joined Fiorentina from Aston Villa for €7m in the summer of 2017.
Over two seasons, Veretout scored 15 goals with six assists in 75 competitive games for the Viola.
