Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar who has been linked with Roma, Arsenal and Manchester United, denies that he’s reached an agreement to join Eintracht Frankfurt as a free agent in June.
German radio Sport 1 had reported that the 24-year-old was ready to sign a €5m-a-year deal with the Bundesliga side, joining on a free transfer at the end of the season.
However, the midfielder quickly denied the report through his official Twitter account, writing: “Some people know before me where I will play next season.”
The France international has been heavily linked with a move to Roma over the last few months with José Mourinho being a long-time admirer.
The Special One has been looking for midfielder reinforcements in the capital and signed Nemanja Matic on a free transfer in June as well as Gini Wijnaldum on loan from PSG.
However, the Dutch midfielder suffered a severe fibula injury soon after his move to the Stadio Olimpico and only made his first appearance as a starter on Tuesday in a 2-1 loss against Cremonese.
Sources in the UK claim Arsenal and Manchester United are also monitoring Aouar, whose future remains uncertain following his latest tweet.
