The Viola have been working on a deal for the 22-year-old Argentine talent for a number of days now and have drawn up an offer worth close to €20m.

As reported by Argentine outlet TNT Sport, Roma have emerged to compete with Fiorentina for Beltran and they’ve submitted an offer to River Plate.

No figures have been revealed and it’s unclear how much the Giallorossi can afford to pay, considering the economic limitations imposed by their Financial Fair Play settlement with UEFA.

Roma have been desperate to sign a new striker this summer, needing the bolster Jose Mourinho’s frontline following the serious injury suffered by Tammy Abraham.
