Roma make new attempt to sign Dalot

Roma remain interested in Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot and have reportedly made a new attempt to sign him in the summer.

The Portugal international has been struggling with playing time at Old Trafford after his return from a loan spell at Milan. The 22-year-old has played 20 games this season (1,440 minutes) but remained on the bench in the last three Premier League matches.

According to Calciomercato.com, United will be listening to offers for the defender in the summer and José Mourinho’s Roma remain interested in securing his services.

Manchester United’s asking price is in the region of €10m, while Dalot would demand a salary in the region of €2.5m per season. The former Porto defender scored two goals in 33 appearances at Milan last term but returned to Old Trafford at the end of the season as the Rossoneri didn’t have an option to make his move permanent.

Roma will send Ainsley Maitland-Niles back to Arsenal at the end of the campaign and Dalot is seen as a potential replacement for the 24-year-old. They have already sounded out the player’s availability. According to the report, Fiorentina are also interested in the Manchester United defender.
