According to Sportmediaset, Roma offered Sergio Ramos a €7.5m-a-year deal, but the former Real Madrid star asked for time to consider their proposal.

The 35-year-old is set to leave Real Madrid as his contract with the La Liga giants expires at the end of the month.

He has been linked with a number of top clubs in Europe, and according to Sportmediaset, Roma are one of the first ones to make a contract offer to the 2010 Spain World Cup winner.

Milan start and quickly end Ramos talks

The Giallorossi reportedly offered Ramos a two-year, €7.5m-a-year deal, less than the €12m earned by Ramos in Madrid.

The so-called ‘Growth decree’ could help the Giallorossi to reach an agreement as Ramos could use it to pay just €100,000 taxes on any income from abroad, such as sponsorship contracts.

The growth decree applies to all workers moving to Italy from abroad for at least two years.

However, Ramose asked for time to consider Roma’s offer.

The Spaniard has reportedly attracted interest from PSG, Manchester United and Sevilla even if the experienced defender has ruled out a return to his former club.

Ramos played 137 games under José Mourinho at Real Madrid.
