Roma will be without Miralem Pjanic for three weeks, including the Champions League showdown with Barcelona.

The midfielder limped off during Bosnia’s game against Andorra on Sunday and has been diagnosed with a first degree right calf muscle strain.

He is expected to be on the touchline for between 15 and 20 days.

It means he’ll certainly miss the Champions League clash between Roma and Barcelona on September 16.

Pjanic is also likely to be ruled out of Serie A games against Frosinone, Sassuolo and Sampdoria.

Medics hope the Bosnia international can return for the September 26 match against Carpi.

Roma are now said to be furious with Bosnia, as the player had already felt pain during the previous qualifier against Belgium.

Incredibly, this will be the first time since September 2012 that Pjanic has missed three consecutive Giallorossi games due to injury.
