Matteo Moretto reports that Roma are almost out of the race for Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri, who is edging closer to Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.

Football Italia transfer expert Matteo Moretto reports the latest updates on En-Nesyri and his Roma links.

Roma slip behind Fenerbahce in En-Nesyri race

While the Giallorossi had made an approach and seemed confident in a deal a few days ago, that has quickly waned and he would now appear to be on his way to Turkey instead.

Moretto wrote in his Caught Offside’s Daily Briefing that while the striker had been initially unsure of the move, he was convinced by a charm campaign from former Roma coach Mourinho.

They have also put a proposal of €12m on the table for Sevilla and could raise it, higher than the Italians were prepared to pay.

The latest reports in Turkey also suggest that he has agreed a four-year contract worth €4m per season plus performance-related bonuses.

The 27-year-old Morocco international is only under contract until June 2025 and therefore has to move on this summer so that Sevilla do not lose him as a free agent.
