Atalanta defender Gianluca Mancini is reportedly first choice to replace Kostas Manolas at Roma if the Greece international leaves this summer.

The Giallorossi don’t want to be caught out if another club comes in and pays Manolas’ €36m release clause, amidst speculation recently linking him with Juventus and Manchester United.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Giallorossi would look to bring in San Lorenzo’s Marcos Senesi and use him in part exchange to tempt Atalanta to part with Mancini.

Mancini is considered one of the brightest prospects in Serie A and has scored six times this season, despite being a centre-back.

He made his Italy debut in the Euro 2020 qualifier against Liechtenstein last month and is valued somewhere in the region of €25m.

Meanwhile, Senesi is described by TMW as a versatile left-footed centre-back, who can play in both a back three and four, and would only cost around €5m.

Udinese had tried to sign 21-year-old – who holds an Italian passport – in the January transfer window, but a deal never materialised.
