Roma are planning a January offer for Manchester United left-back Ashley Young, according to English newspapers.

The 33-year-old’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season and recently became captain, but negotiations on a new one-year deal appear to be at a standstill.

According to The Sun, Roma maintain they can make a quick swoop for Young in the January transfer window, or at least put down roots for a free transfer next summer.
