Roma continue to push for Memphis Depay in the January transfer market and are prepared to pay Barcelona €2m, but his salary is an issue.

The striker had arrived as a free agent from Olympique Marseille in the summer of 2021 and his contract is due to expire at the end of this season.

He has found playing time very hard to come by at Camp Nou this term with only three appearances in all competitions, still scoring one goal.

With good performances for the Netherlands at the World Cup, Depay is back on the radar and Jose Mourinho has requested him at Roma.

According to Leggo newspaper and Diario Sport, the Giallorossi have prepared €2m to buy the 28-year-old in January.

They cannot go any higher, as his salary is very high by the standards of the Stadio Olimpico side.

His wages had also put off Juventus when Depay was available over the summer, as he wanted €7m per season.
