PSG seem ready to sell Adrien Rabiot in January, but Roma and Juventus face competition from Arsenal and Chelsea.

The 19-year-old’s contract will expire in June 2015 and he rejected a renewal, so a mid-season sale seems inevitable to avoid losing him on a Bosman deal.

Rabiot was left out of Paris Saint-Germain’s squad for the Champions League.

English media claim Arsenal and Chelsea are the favourites to sign the versatile midfielder, but in Italy they paint a different picture.

According to several sources, Roma have already agreed terms with Rabiot’s family and will be his first choice in January.

However, today La Stampa newspaper insists Juventus have leapt into the lead thanks to the work of Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici.

They were already able to snatch PSG youth team player Kingsley Coman on a free transfer, the 18-year-old making an impressive Serie A debut against Chievo last week.

Juve were already famously able to secure Paul Pogba when his contract with Manchester United expired.

“We talked about Rabiot with Roma and other clubs,” confirmed PSG patron Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

“But we did not come to any agreement. I love the kid – I think he’s a great player and I want him to stay.

“I have tried to get him to renew his contract, but without success. He wants to leave.”
