Roma join Maignan chase

Roma are ready to compete with Milan and Tottenham Hotspur for Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan, claims the Corriere dello Sport.

The shot-stopper has long been mentioned in the Italian media as the first choice for Milan if Gianluigi Donnarumma does not sign a contract extension.

Spurs are also interested, but now Jose Mourinho’s Roma are stepping up with an offer of their own.

They hope to make the most of the stasis around the Rossoneri, who won’t discuss Donnarumma’s deal until after the season has concluded.

Roma, on the other hand, already know they need a new goalkeeper, especially as Pau Lopez is out for three months following shoulder surgery.

Maignan turns 26 in July and has been included in France’s squad for Euro 2020.
