Roma have reportedly contacted Bodo/Glimt regarding striker Erik Botheim, who impressed in both legs between the two teams in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Norwegian broadcaster TV2 reports Jose Mourinho has shown interest in the Norwegian striker and the Giallorossi have reportedly contacted the agent.

Roma suffered an embarrassing 6-1 defeat to the Norwegians in Bodo, before a 2-2 draw in Rome two weeks later.

Botheim contributed three goals and three assists over the two games and has ended up on the wish list in the Italian capital, with Lazio also mentioned as possible suitors for the 21-year-old.

Botheim could thus follow in former Bodo/Glimt winger Jens Petter Hauge’s footsteps to Italy, as the current Eintracht Frankfurt player moved to Milan after his impressive performances against the Rossoneri in the preliminary stages of the Europa League last term.

Hauge joined Milan in August 2020 and signed a deal until June 2025 but moved after 24 competitive games and five goals with the Rossoneri.

The 22-year-old then joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan with an obligation to buy over the summer and has played 13 times for the German side.
