The Roma squad is stretched so thin for tomorrow’s Serie A showdown with Inter that Jose Mourinho is considering a debut for 19-year-old right-back Filippo Missori, while Romelu Lukaku should start rather than Lautaro Martinez.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

This is a head-to-head for fourth place, as only two points separate the teams going into this weekend.

Zeki Celik was sent off for a second bookable offence during injury time of Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Monza and is therefore suspended.

Considering Rick Karsdorp and Diego Llorente are also out of action, that leaves only Nicola Zalewski able to play on the right.

With that in mind, Sky Sport Italia claim Mourinho is ready to call up Primavera youth team player Missori, who turned 19 in March, and potentially even give him time on the field.

The defence is decimated, as Chris Smalling and Marash Kumbulla are also injured, with Stephan El Shaarawy missing for the forwards.

Paulo Dybala, Andrea Belotti and Gini Wijnaldum may well be on the bench, but their chances of featuring for more than a few minutes are limited by fitness problems.

At least there is some good news for Mourinho with the return of midfielder Nemanja Matic from suspension.

As for Inter, they are missing Danilo D’Ambrosio, Robin Gosens and Milan Skriniar, but there is also a focus on the upcoming Champions League semi-final against Milan on Wednesday night.

With that in mind, Lautaro Martinez could be rested with Edin Dzeko in favour of Lukaku and Joaquin Correa.

Probable line-ups

Roma (3-4-2-1): Rui Patricio; Mancini, Cristante, Ibanez; Zalewski, Bove, Matic, Spinazzola; Pellegrini, Solbakken; Abraham

Inter (3-5-2): Onana; Darmian, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Dimarco; Lukaku, Correa
