Roma are stepping up the chase for Torino captain Andrea Belotti and have reportedly increased their offer to €20m for the Italy striker.

According to Tuttosport, Roma initially offered €15m plus add-ons to sign the Toro attacker, but Torino President Urbano Cairo then hit back saying their proposal was ‘provocative’.

Belotti has emerged as Roma’s main transfer target to strengthen their attacking departure over the summer and his contract with Torino expires in June 2022.

Roma had their first offer rejected by Toro and Il Corriere dello Sport claims the Giallorossi have returned with another proposal.

Cairo initially requested €30m for the striker, but with only one year left on his contract, the patron might have to grant a discount.

Roma are prepared to offer the player a deal until June 2025 worth €3m plus bonuses.

Belotti scored 13 goals in 35 Serie A games in 2020-21 and helped Torino to safety in the top flight.
