Roma legend Giacomo Losi has died at the age of 88, with his place in history assured after 455 appearances for the club.
The defender had started his career at Cremonese, but moved to the Giallorossi in 1954 and never looked back.
He remained with Roma until his retirement in the summer of 1969.
Giacomino Losi played as a right-back, but also in central defence, and had 386 Serie A appearances, scoring one goal.
During his tenure, Roma won two editions of the Coppa Italia and the Fair’s Cup.
“As soon as I arrived at Roma, I fell in love,” is the quote used by the Roma social media channels.
“You always loved us, we always loved you. Goodbye Captain, you will be in our hearts forever.”
“𝐴𝑝𝑝𝑒𝑛𝑎 𝑎𝑟𝑟𝑖𝑣𝑎𝑡𝑜 𝑎 𝑅𝑜𝑚𝑎, 𝑚𝑖 𝑠𝑜𝑛𝑜 𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑎𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑜”.
