Multiple reports in Italy claim Roma are in advanced talks with Bayer Leverkusen for Serdar Azmoun, who has also been linked with a move to Milan.

Fabrizio Romano claims the Giallorossi have joined their Serie A rivals in Milan in the race to sign the Iran international. According to the Italian transfer expert, both clubs have made an offer and the 28-year-old will make a decision about his next club in the coming days.

Azmoun is under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until June 2027.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Iranian striker will join the Giallorossi. Sky Sport Italia’s transfer pundit says Azmoun is ‘surprisingly arriving’ in the capital.

Roma have been looking for a new centre forward since June when Tammy Abraham sustained a severe knee injury in the last game of 2022-23 against Spezia.

Atalanta blocked Duvan Zapata’s exit on Thursday, so the Giallorossi have pounced on Azmoun despite reports of an interest in Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.
